On paper, Call of Duty: War ZoneThe Haunting of Verdansk update seemed like a fun way to kill a little time before the release of Cold War and celebrate Halloween a little earlier than planned (as if we weren’t already doing it).
However, it turns out that War zoneThe new Zombies mode is actually the best Battle Royale event yet and a pretty fun tribute to the glory days of Codbest Zombies modes.
As we spoke earlier, War zoneThe limited-time Zombies mode allows you to land on a relatively small part of the Verdansk map and fight other players as usual. The twist is that you don’t go to the Gulag when you die; you become a zombie. If you manage to kill two human players while you are a zombie, you will resurrect with your charge. The last player (or team) standing wins. It’s a relatively simple concept that proves to be much more than the sum of its parts due in large part to the unique abilities of zombies and how their amazing speed allows them to reach parts of the map that were previously considered “safe.”
While the intense action of War zoneThe Halloween event is its biggest draw, that’s not all this event has to offer. Yes, as you’ve probably guessed, this Halloween event also offers players the chance to unlock (through play or, you know, spending money) various horror-themed cosmetics. The unlockables based on the Mountain range Y The massacre in Texas Franchises are the highlight of this update’s cosmetic collection, but you can actually access a variety of new items simply by opening special “Trick ‘r Treat” supply boxes located within the War zone Map.
