It’s only been a few months since the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare install size exceeded 200GB, but with the recent big update of season 6 that weighed in 57 GB on PC – the total size of COD: MW now leans towards 250GB.

This has pissed off a lot of gamers, as 250GB SSD owners have been forced to move their SSD game to something bigger, or upgrade. Even at launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was ridiculously huge at 175GB.

But after a few updates it went from 200GB, then 220GB, and now it’s close to 250 GB in size. Why? The game has the single player campaign, the cooperative mode Special Ops and then the monster Battle Royale Warzone.

Console gamers haven’t had to worry as much about this, as Infinity Ward has given them the option to uninstall particular modes (so if you’re only playing Warzone, you can remove the other parts and save 10GB of space). PC gamers do not have this option, so they are forced to have a game that takes up a quarter of a terabyte.

Remember it Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is about to be released… so it will be interesting to see how big that game (from Raven Software and Treyarch) is compared to Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
