One of the best and most important weeks for gaming fans is about to culminate with the release of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.

The new Call of Duty game has a release date of November 13 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC.

As the name suggests, the last Black Ops game takes place during the Cold War era of the 1980s.

The single player campaign transports players to places like East Berlin, Turkey, Vietnam, and Russia.

It goes without saying that Cold War also features an extensive multiplayer suite, offering a collection of new and classic game modes, not to mention the fan-favorite Zombies mode.

Activision’s Warzone Battle Royale spin-off will also contain various Cold War ties as Activision continues to expand its free-to-play hit.

If this has made you want to play Activision’s first-person shooter sensation at launch, then the good news is that you don’t have to wait long.

The PlayStation and Xbox versions of Black Ops Cold War have a midnight release time in all regions.

PC fans will have to wait a bit longer, with the new game playable at 5am GMT UK time.

Of course, the exact time you can start playing depends on whether you have preloaded the game or not.

The file size for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is huge, especially on next-gen platforms like PS5 and Xbox Series X, where you’ll need more than 130GB of hard drive space.

As for current-generation platforms, the PlayStation 4 version weighs 95GB, compared to 93GB for the Xbox One.

On PC, fans will need 35GB of space for multiplayer and 82GB of space for the full game. If you have a really powerful PC, then the full Black Ops Cold War experience with Ultra Graphics settings will require 125GB of space.

Fortunately, you can choose which parts to install on different platforms, so you can always start with the campaign, before downloading the multiplayer mode.

Speaking of multiplayer, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War contains a host of different maps and game modes, including all the classic 6v6 matches we know and love, as well as 12v12 combo. Weapon modes and the massive 40-person Fireteam mode.

Maps such as Checkmate, Garrison, Miami, Cartel, Crossroads, Moscow, Armada, and Satellite are playable in the game’s 6-v-6 multiplayer modes.

The 12v12 combo weapon modes are currently playable on Cartel, Crossroads, and Armada, while Fireteam can be played on the new Ruka and Alpine maps.

Fireteam Dirty Bomb is a unique new game mode where ten teams of four compete to collect uranium and detonate dirty bombs.

“Fireteam: Dirty Bomb raises the action to 11 with multi-squad madness,” explains Activision.

“A total of 40 players divided into 10 teams will compete to eliminate enemies, collect uranium caches, locate dirty bombs scattered on the map and successfully deposit their uranium in said bombs to detonate them and obtain victory.”
