BTS were the big winners at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) on Sunday, taking home four awards.
The K-pop superstars won Best Group, Biggest Fans, Best Song for Dynamite, and Best Virtual Live Title for their virtual concert over the summer, awarded in lieu of Best Live Act, as in-person concerts have closed in largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Little Mix, who hosted the ceremony which was held remotely, won two awards, for Best Pop and Best UK and Ireland Performance, as did Lady Gaga, who was named Best Artist and Best Performance by United States after receiving seven nominations.
DJ Khaled received the Best Video award for promotion for his collaboration with Drake and Justin Bieber, POPSTAR, while HER Black Lives Matter’s anthem, I Can’t Breathe, was honored with the Video for Good award.
St. Vincent, Taylor Hawkins and Tom Morello also paid tribute to guitar legend Eddie Van Halen following a memorial segment honoring stars lost over the past year.
Little Mix, Doja Cat, Yungblud, Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Maluma, DaBaby, Yungblud, Zara Larsson, Tate McRae, and Jack Harlow were among the artists during the event.
