(Pocket-lint): Bose hasn’t updated its true wireless range since the first SoundSport Free, which, at the time, were some of the best TWS headphones on the market, especially for runners.
Now, he’s using his expertise in noise cancellation to bring us an advanced ANC-equipped pair. Or at least, that’s what seems almost confirmed now thanks to a leaked promo video.
The video first appeared thanks to Australian retailer Harvey Norman, and was reported by CNET. While the original video was removed, it has since been reloaded and you can watch it below:
In the video, Bose shows the design of the QuietComfort headphones, which have some similarities to SoundSport Free. The headphones have a similar tapered and cone-shaped ear tip and ear fin designed to be comfortable yet secure.
It also touts “World’s Most Effective Noise Cancellation”, hinting at the fact that it will use similar technology to what we’ve experimented with with the excellent 700 Noise Canceling Headphones.
The pair will allow you to “appreciate the finer details” in your favorite tunes and also deliver crisp detail with deep bass in a splash resistant pair of headphones. That means you can wear them in the rain or during your sweatiest workouts, and they should survive.
An interesting point to note is the custom microphone setup that is hidden behind a series of holes machined into the bottom of the headphone case. This is designed to allow quality voice clarity similar to that of Headphones 700.
Plus, you get up to six hours of music playback with the charging case, which, while it falls short of the upper levels, should be sufficient for most listeners. It’s certainly an improvement over the five hours offered by its sporty cousins.
Bose has yet to announce the new QuietComfort headphones, but with the promo video shown on an Australian retailer’s site, it looks like the launch will be sooner rather than later. Look at this space.
