Ansu Fati has become the youngest scorer in Spain at 17 years and 311 days old.
The Barcelona star scored his country’s third goal in a 4-0 Nations League win over Ukraine on Sunday.
He received the ball from Manchester United goal Sergio Reguilón before cutting and firing an unstoppable shot off the post in the 32nd minute.
Fati, who also started for the first time for Spain in his second international game, also won a penalty in the third minute, which was converted by Sergio Ramos.
It is one more record for the striker who has the youngest scoring feats in Barcelona and the Champions League.
Ramos completed his double just three minutes before Fati’s goal when Man City’s new kid, Ferran Torres, added a fourth later.
Fati received a first call-up from Spain last month after a great season with Barcelona that saw him score eight times.
Speaking after Ukraine’s win, Spain coach Luis Enrique praised the teenager.
He said: “At Ansu’s age, it would be easy for things to go to his head, but this guy is too mature for that.
“He already knows that he has to follow the right path, he is relaxed and humble about what is happening to him.
“That does not mean that we will not have games when things are not going so well for Ansu, when he makes mistakes.
“All of that is just part of their learning. Still, his achievements to date are far from normal. “
