Asteroid twice the size of the pyramids ‘shouldn’t’ hit Earth

NASA is tracking a huge asteroid the size of two Egyptian pyramids.

The space rock (which has been called the Near Earth Object, or NEO for short) is between 120 m and 270 m wide and between 100 m and 250 m high. That makes it twice the size of the Egyptian landmark.

According to scientists, the asteroid will approach the Earth but will not pose a threat as long as it remains on its course. And hopefully it does just that.

NASA says that there are some things that can actually change the orbit of the sun of an asteroid, including passing through other planets. According to NASA, “” Occasionally, the orbital trajectories of asteroids are influenced by the gravitational pull of the planets, which causes their trajectories to alter. ”

“Scientists believe that lost asteroids or fragments from previous collisions have slammed into Earth in the past, playing an important role in the evolution of our planet.”

That said, at this stage, NASA has ruled out any possibility of impact with Earth. Hopefully it continues like this.
