Oxford University ranked first for the fifth year in a row, followed by Stanford, Harvard, Caltech, and MIT.
Institutions from the UK and the US took the top ten places, with ETH Zurich being the first non-US or British entrant at 14th.
However, Imperial College London falling to 11th saw the UK lose a spot in the top 10 for the first time in 10 years, while Cambridge reached its lowest position since 2014. The US claimed eight of the Top 10, but THE noted that “US institutions outside the top 200 show signs of decline.”

A similar trend was also seen in the QS rankings released earlier this year.
In terms of international perspective, number of international staff and students, as well as international collaboration, Macao University of Science and Technology ranked first, where 84% of students are international. with half of the universities in the top ten for this metric based in Hong Kong and Macau.
This year’s rankings include more than 1,500 universities from 93 countries and regions that are evaluated through teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry revenue performance indicators.
