Apple touts iPhone 12 durability in ‘Cook’ ad

Apple shared a new iPhone 12 ad on its official YouTube channel on Friday, touting the durability of the flagship phone as it endures a flood of eggs, vegetables, flour and more in a frenzied cooking session.

Aptly titled “Cook,” the commercial focuses on the iPhone 12’s ability to withstand the elements, in this case a food whirlwind.

“More resistant to splashes and spills than ever. Ceramic Shield, stronger than the glass of any smartphone. Relax, it’s an iPhone,” says Apple.

Set in Naïka’s “Sauce”, the ad follows an iPhone user as she prepares a meal (mess) in the kitchen. Used as a digital cookbook, complete with video tutorials, the iPhone is dropped, shaken, covered with flour, sprinkled with batter, and pounded with a pepper mill.

The ad ends with the man washing the phone under a faucet.

Apple has launched a steady stream of announcements highlighting the various features of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, such as high-quality cameras, Dolby Vision, privacy, and more. The company’s “Shot on iPhone” campaign is also going strong and continues to produce stunning images of iPhone owners around the world.
