If you live near an Apple store, orders for iOS devices may soon start arriving faster than before.
Apple, which typically ships devices from regional warehouses or directly from China, has started shipping iPhones, Macs and iPads from US-based retail stores, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the matter.
The move to ship devices from its retail store network aims to speed up local delivery for customers within 100 miles of a store, Bloomberg reports.
Packages can arrive as early as the next day, but you cannot opt for the delivery option. It’s all up to Apple, which ships via FedEx in the US Apple was not immediately available for comment.
The news about the shipping changes anticipates Apple’s plan to announce new devices, including what could be a 5G-capable iPhone on Wednesday.
Apple recently introduced the Apple Watch Series 6 with blood oxygen monitoring. The company is also preparing a new iPad Air and on-ear headphones, according to Bloomberg.
