Apple seeded the first beta version of an upcoming watchOS 7.1 update for developers today for testing purposes, two weeks after seeding the first beta version and just over two weeks after releasing the watchOS 7 update.
To install the beta version of watchOS 7, developers must download the appropriate configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. Once the profile is in place, the beta version of watchOS 7 can be downloaded through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General> Software Update.
To upgrade to new software, the Apple Watch must have 50 percent battery life, must be placed on the charger, and must be within range of the iPhone.
No new features were discovered in the first beta version of watchOS 7.1, so we do not yet know what new additions may be included in the beta version. You can focus on internal improvements and bug fixes for issues that could not be addressed in the initial release of watchOS 7.
If new features are found in the second beta version of watchOS 7.1, we will update this article. watchOS 7.1, like watchOS 7, is compatible with Apple Watch Series 3 and later.
