Apple products worth 5 million pounds ($ 6.6 million) were stolen from a truck in a dramatic robbery on a highway 75 miles north of London, police said Tuesday.
The criminals “attacked and tied up” a truck driver and a security guard on the M1, one of the UK’s main north-south routes, on the night of 10 November, Northamptonshire police said.
They then took the truck to the nearby town of Crick, where they moved the trailer loaded with valuable Apple AAPL,
products to a waiting truck, leaving the driver and guard behind.
The truck was later found across the county border to the north, in Leicestershire. Police believe the thieves transferred the contents of the truck, which apparently contained 48 pallets of Apple products, to a third vehicle. The stolen items included AirPods, Apple Watches, and iPhone 11s.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses to the crime, which took place on the southbound slip road at junction 18 of the M1 between 7.45pm and 8pm on November 10.
Police are also seeking to speak to anyone who has been offered an Apple product for sale “under unusual circumstances,” or who knows of someone who is selling such items at low prices.
