This week in the Apple news, we hear about the future of foldable iPhones. Supposedly, Apple has completed durability tests on two folding prototypes. Of course, anyone can guess if any of the models will hit commercial status, or when that might happen.

• Foldable iPhones move to the next phase: According to Daily economic newsApple could be working on no less than two foldable iPhone prototypes. It is possible that one might look like the third party mockup above. According to EDN, both prototypes were in a durability testing phase and both have “graduated” so to speak. We are unlikely to see a foldable iPhone in 2021, but this backs up previous rumors that a foldable one is on the way.
• iPad Pro with Mini-LED technology scheduled for Q1 2021: According to a DigiTimes Report, Apple could launch a 12.9-inch iPad Pro sometime in the next few months. This new iPad would likely be one of the company’s first, if not the first, products with Mini-LED technology. In theory, this could make the iPad screen even better than high-end OLED panels. However, we will have to wait and see if that ends up being true.
• AirPods Pro 2 could come in two sizes: A new hardware leak (found through MacRumors) suggests that there could be two sizes of the next AirPods Pro iteration. This could be beneficial for people who think that current AirPods are either too big or too small, depending on the size of their ear canals.
• Caviar creates $ 108,000 AirPods Max: If you still haven’t balked at the AirPods Max due to their ridiculous $ 550 price tag, could we be interested in spending over $ 100,000 more on a gold-plated model? Russian hype personalization company Caviar now sells AirPods Max with a “pure gold” finish. It is not known how much heavier this will make the already heavy headphones.
• Third-party AirPods Max cases finally available: Speaking of AirPods Max, another big complaint besides its price is its wallet case. However, if you investigate further, you will discover that the specific intent of the app is to help people host private parties and bypass local regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The app’s official TikTok account has also been banned.
• That Mariah Carey Christmas special was apparently a hit: On Apple TV Plus, you can watch Mariah Carey’s magical Christmas special. Apparently the special was a hit enough that Apple asked Carey to make another one for the holiday season 2021, on an unlimited budget. Seriously. Maybe Apple might want to make it a tradition?
