Move on, Samsung Smart TV: Apple Music is now available on the new Nest Audio and other Google Assistant-enabled devices. Apple Music’s ad-free library of songs, albums and playlists, now rolling out to smart speakers and displays like the Nest Hub Max, Nest Mini and more, is just a voice command away.

Simply link your Apple Music account in the Google Home app, then say “Hello Google, play the daily New Music playlist” or “Hello Google, play the Rap Life playlist” (or any equivalent collection of songs that help you get through the day).

“You can ask the Google Assistant to play any specific song, artist, or playlist available on Apple Music, and you can play music based on genre, mood, or activity,” wrote Google product managers Sushmit Goswami and Chris Chan in a blog post. “You can also play the songs you like from your Apple Music library by saying ‘Ok Google, play my songs’ or ‘Ok Google, play my library.’

Do you have more than one compatible device at home? No problem. Activate the multi-room control feature in the Google Home app or on a Nest smart display to “dynamically move your music from one device to another,” the blog said. Or listen in surround sound by telling the Google Assistant to “play music on all my speakers.”

The feature is available first on Nest and other Assistant-enabled smart speakers and displays in the US, UK, France, Germany, and Japan. “With the addition of Apple Music to our audio streaming line, you have even more options when it comes to music streaming services,” boasted Chan and Goswami. “So whatever the occasion, we have the covered DJ booth.”

Earlier this year, Samsung smart TVs featured the Apple Music app on their 2018 to 2020 models, allowing subscribers around the world to stream millions of songs and music videos, browse thousands of curated playlists, and host virtual dance parties with family and friends, all from the comfort of your living room. New customers can try the service free for three months with an individual, family or student subscription.
