There has already been a lot of talk about the upcoming iPhone series, dubbed the iPhone 13 series. We have witnessed various rumors, leaks, and speculations revolving around phones in recent months. However, a new report coming from trusted analyst Ming Chi-Kuo (via Macrumors) talks about the batteries for the upcoming phone. In his latest note, Kuo says that Apple will take new space-saving measures for the iPhone 13 and use it to install a higher capacity battery.
The company has reportedly figured out a way to fit larger batteries inside the body of the phone by reducing the thickness of the front optical modules and integrating the SIM card slot with the motherboard.
However, Kuo adds that including a larger battery in the iPhone will also mean that the devices will be heavier compared to the iPhone 12 models.

It’s worth mentioning that based on various teardowns, the iPhone 12 has been revealed to come with a fairly small 2815mAh battery. However, due to optimizations of the operating system and the efficiency of the chipset, it can last longer than iPhone 11 devices, even though the latter has more battery capacity.
And with that kind of efficiency, higher battery capacity will only make the iPhone 13 a better device when it comes to battery performance.
In the past, Kuo also mentioned that the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max may feature 120Hz refresh rate OLED displays and smaller notches. It is also mentioned that Apple may continue to make the iPhone 13 Mini despite facing mediocre performance from the iPhone 12 Mini.
According to insider Jon Prosser, the company may not launch the iPhone SE 2021 this year as its position could be taken by the iPhone 13 Mini. However, if only Apple plans to release the ‘SE’ model, it could be the ‘SE Plus’.
