Now Apple has released an update, bringing the version number to iOS 14.0.1 and fixing a bug that reset the default browser and email apps to Apple’s Safari and Mail every time the device was restarted.
In iOS 14, Apple introduced the option to change your default browser and mail apps to something other than Apple’s default apps; you can, for example, configure your browser in Firefox and your mail application in Gmail. But it wasn’t particularly helpful with the phone reverting to default settings upon reboot.
The new version of iOS fixes a couple of minor bugs, including an issue that could prevent your iPhone from connecting to Wi-Fi networks, a bug that prevented camera previews from displaying on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. , a bug that could prevent emailing with some providers, and a problem that could prevent images from appearing in the news widget.
The same bug also affected Apple’s iPadOS, which has now also been brought to version 14.0.1 with the same fixes (without the iPhone 7 bug).
