Apex Legends’ new noir-themed Pathfinder video may be the best short ever

[ad_1]

If you’ve ever wondered what life was like for Pathfinder before the Apex Games, Respawn Entertainment now has an answer. The latest Stories from the Outlands video, called Fight Night, is about the murderous, jolly robot and gives us a glimpse of where it came from and what it has been doing between its creation and its arrival in Apex legends.

Despite being primarily about Pathfinder, the actual main character of Fight Night is a former cop named Victor Maldera, who now works as a security guard and amateur detective. Victor was dishonorably fired from the Maltese police after his final case was closed. The case revolved around a tragic fire at Humbert Labs. Malta police considered the fire to be an accident, but Victor believed it was caused by Alexander Nox.

When the coroner announced that Nox had been among the victims of the fire, Victor attacked him and was fired from the police. Years later, working as a security guard, Victor is still looking for Nox, who he believes is alive. Of course sharp-eyed Apex legends Fans will recognize Nox, whether by name or hairstyle, as none other than Caustic, one of the game’s original Legends, so we know for a fact that Victor is on the right track.

One night, just as Victor gives up on his search for Nox, he runs into Pathfinder working as a waiter at a restaurant. After a mishap involving a customer accidentally shooting himself, Victor grabs Pathfinder and attempts to interrogate him, only to see a video file of Caustic escaping the Humbert Labs fire, proving that he set it off and that Victor was right. all the time.

Also among these memory files, we see small fragments of important Apex legends stories like Revenant murdering Loba’s parents. There is also a short clip from the creator of Pathfinder explaining that it was designed to discover new worlds such as the Outlands, that he is a French scientist and might have something to do with Wattson.

It’s not worth spoiling the action that comes next, but in the end we get to see what happened to Pathfinder and what appears to be the beginning of his journey to the Apex Games.

This trailer is rich in history and seems to connect Pathfinder with many of the other Legends that compete at Apex Games. But it’s not entirely clear whether we should expect this Far Lands Stories short to tie directly into any upcoming content or not. Maybe Victor, who appears to be an amateur boxer in his spare time, will make it to the Apex Games? But even if it doesn’t, Fight Night is still one of Apex legends best animated shorts of all time.
