Animal Crossing Confirms New Halloween Update Release Date

Nintendo will unleash the spooky spirit of Halloween on Animal Crossing: New Horizons in less than a week!

The first new update of the last Animal crossing since summer will finally premiere on Wednesday September 30 – bringing along some supernatural DIY recipes, Halloween costumes, and more fall fun.

New Horizons You will receive a top-down makeover, including the option to change your skin and hair colors to blue, gray, pink, and green. New seasonal items will also appear in Nook’s Cranny, such as candy.

As with Bunny Day last spring, in October players will be able to grow a new crop according to the season: pumpkins! These pumpkins can be used to create Jack O ‘Lanterns and other seasonal DIY recipes.

On Halloween night, the returning Jack, the “reigning tsar of Halloween,” will arrive on your island for a night of trick or treating and other spooky fun.

And that’s not all! Your in-game NookLink apps will get a full overhaul so you can now use emojis.

These Halloween-themed features will help players until a late November update includes a variety of new features for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

A sneak peek added at the end of this new preview revealed that the late November update will bring back the Harvest Festival mascot Franklin the turkey and Jingle the Reindeer from Toy Day.
