When it comes to the launch of Big Navi graphics cards, and indeed Ryzen 5000 processors, AMD is apparently determined to avoid the mistakes that Nvidia made with the availability and stock levels of its RTX 3000 products.
Videocardz highlighted on Twitter that YouTube leaker RedGamingTech managed to seize a document purportedly from AMD that provided guidance for retailers to defeat bots and resellers that plagued the launch of Nvidia’s Ampere GPU.

Outlets selling RX 6000 graphics cards and Ryzen 5000 CPUs are advised to use some form of bot detection and management and to use CAPTCHA verification.
When (or if) inventory runs out, a queue-based notification system is also mentioned to allow customers to reserve their spot in line for when stock becomes available later, which is something we’ve seen EVGA do with your RTX 3000 cards recently.
AMD is also urging retailers to switch to manual order processing when products are released, to fully verify orders and again to try to avoid bot purchases.
Other measures include obvious steps like ensuring that only one product per household can be purchased.
Working together
Retailers are urged to contact their AMD representative to “review which of these measures works” for them.
AMD said, “Let’s work together to ensure, to the extent possible, that the new AMD CPUs and GPUs reach the gamers and enthusiasts for whom they were designed at launch and throughout the holiday season.”
And you certainly can’t argue with that sentiment, although frustrating bot users looking to make a profit selling graphics cards is a very thorny and difficult task, but certainly any countermeasures that make things more difficult for resellers are welcome.
As for RX 6000 GPU stock levels, AMD has already made some promises, or at least left some hints, that graphics card stock levels will be better than what we saw with Nvidia’s RTX 3000 range. . Although it is true that this will not be exactly difficult …
The AMD Big Navi GPUs are scheduled to be released on October 28, a week from now, and the Ryzen 5000 processors (with a free copy of Far Cry 6 included) have already been revealed and will go on sale on November 5.
