AMD hasn’t revealed any other details about these events at this time, but for the past few months, the manufacturer has shared bits and pieces of information related to its upcoming chip architectures. Based on AMD’s roadmaps, the Ryzen Zen 3 processors will be built on an improved version of TSMC’s 7nm process, likely TSMC’s N7P process given AMD’s comments clarifying that they do not commit to EUV for 7nm . Otherwise, for the moment AMD is keeping its lips closed on the Zen 3 architecture itself, although since AMD will not reap the benefits of a full node downsizing, we expect Zen 3 to provide some interesting and significant architectural improvements. about Zen 2.
Meanwhile, on the graphics front, AMD and its partners have previously confirmed that RDNA 2 will be a DirectX 12 Ultimate compliant GPU architecture (feature level 12_2), which means that AMD will make significant changes to the graphics side. graphics from your GPU layouts. The Navi 2x family of GPUs will get support for ray tracing, variable speed shading and other features that will put AMD’s new GPUs on par with the competition for both consoles and PCs. Meanwhile, from a performance standpoint, AMD is aiming for a sizable 50% increase in performance per watt, which could bridge the efficiency gap with NVIDIA. Also, the company previously promised a high-end GPU for 4K gaming, so we’re expecting some ambitious performance targets from AMD.
Be sure to register on October 8th and October 28th for more details on the next generation of consumer parts from AMD.
