Amazon Music launches podcasts, establishes a list of original shows

Amazon Music now offers millions of free podcast episodes and has established a roster of original programming coming to the platform, representing a major new rival for Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Free podcasts are available on all levels of Amazon Music at no additional cost and were first released in the US, UK, Germany, and Japan. Original shows produced exclusively for Amazon Music include podcasts from DJ Khaled, Becky G, Will Smith, Dan Patrick, and more.

Popular podcasts such as “Serial”, “Dr. Death”, “WTF with Marc Maron”, “Crime Junkie”, “What a Day”, “This American Life”, “Radiolab”, are non-exclusively available on Amazon Music. “Revisionist History”, “Planet Money”, “Ear Hustle”, “Why Won ‘Did you go out with me? With Nicole Byer” and “Things you should know”.

On the original front, Amazon Music has teamed up with DJ Khaled for “The First One,” developed by Amazon Music and LeBron James’ Springhill Company, in which he will interview his favorite artists of all time.
