The Animal Crossing Sanrio crossover has proven once again that our island getaways can, in fact, be even more beautiful. On March 18, 2021, Update 1.9 will allow players to scan Sanrio amiibo cards and bring fun new villagers, items, and clothing to the game. Are you excited to see what cool things you can collect? Sanrio is a Japanese company that designs and produces products such as stationery, bags, pencils, stuffed animals, watches, wallets and more with adorable cartoon characters. This includes popular figures like Hello Kitty, Pochacco, Keroppi, Aggretsuko, and more.

Given the cute nature of Animal Crossing, it’s no wonder Sanrio wanted to collaborate on one of the best Nintendo Switch games of all time.

How to get Sanrio items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To get beautiful Sanrio items in Animal Crossing, players will need to scan all six Sanrio Animal Crossing amiibo cards. Also, the game will not be able to bring items into the game until March 18, 2021 when the 1.9 update goes live.
