Aeromexico became the second airline on Friday to resume operation of the Boeing 737 Max since the model was grounded with a flight from Mexico City to Cancun. The airline, whose fleet includes six 737 Max 8s, plans to gradually add domestic destinations such as Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana.
Following the November FAA authorization for the Max to return to service, Aeromexico has coordinated with Boeing and the Federal Civil Aviation Agency of Mexico (AFAC) on all the procedures and tests necessary to reintroduce the narrow body, and the pilots of Max from AeroMexico have completed their updated training on the type.
