English singer Adele will host the October 24 episode of Saturday Night Live. While she has previously been featured on NBC’s long-running live television variety and sketch comedy series, this will be her first time as a host.
Adele shared her excitement (and terror) on Instagram. She shared a photo of a cork bulletin board with cards with her name, SNL’s debut date, and ‘HER’ (the musical guest) taped with thumbtacks.
Adele said she has always wanted to have an “independent” moment on SNL. She also expressed her happiness that SHE was the musical guest on the episode.
In the caption, Adele said, “Damn I’m so excited about this! And also absolutely terrified! My first host and SNL concert of all things! I’ve always wanted to do it as a standalone moment, so I can roll up my sleeves and jump in completely, but it’s never been the right time. But if ever there was a time for any of us to jump headfirst into the bottom with our eyes closed and hope for the best, it’s 2020, right?
The rest of the caption read: “It will be almost 12 years from the day I first appeared on the show, during an election … that broke my career in America, so it feels full circle and just not I could say no! I’m besides myself that SHE will be the musical guest !! I love her so much that I can’t wait to melt into a fiery mess when she performs, then get confused as I laugh out loud between all of this. next ♥ ️🤞🏻 “.
The SNL concert features Adele’s first major public appearance since 2017.
