said Thursday night that it is delaying the release of its “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” installments to continue beta testing of the game. The company’s Blizzard division said it expected to release the update for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game in late October, but is opting to release it “later this year.” The company said it does not expect the delay to have a “material impact” on its financial results this year. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect annual earnings of $ 3.26 per share on the company’s $ 7.86 billion revenue. “Blizzard is extending beta testing and iterating based on strong player input, focusing on fine-tuning and polishing efforts related to the endgame that have been partially slowed down by the team working from home during the ongoing pandemic.” the company said in a statement.
