Star Wars: Squadrons is the new game in the Star Wars franchise that focuses on space battles between spaceships like X-Wings and TIE fighters. The game has been developed by EA Motive published by Electronic Arts.
If you are a Star Wars lover then you would love to shoot down enemy pilots in deadly chases and dogfights. The main feature of the 5v5 multiplayer is excellent and you can join the New Republic Vanguard Squad or fight for the Empire Titan Squad.
In Dogfight mode there are up to 10 players who are divided into two groups of pilots against each other, while in Fleet Battles it is almost like the first, however you can target and destroy Capital Ships. The winning team has a chance to destroy the enemy flagship and earn some points.
The game is now available to EA Play and Play Pro members, so we’ve played it already, and here’s a quick look at the new EA Sports game:
The game’s home screen clearly gives you an idea of the modes and variations it offers you. Quick Match is more like a free play option where you can roam freely with your starship and practice your shooting by renting some enemy ships and doing whatever you want.
It’s a great option to play the game and get used to flying the ship in space and overall the gameplay was very smooth and the graphics were great too.
There are four spaceships for the New Republic: Fighter, Support, Bomber, and Interceptor, while there are six maps for Star Wars: Squadrons.
You can easily customize your starship: apply various skins, customize your flight, upgrade your starship deck, and much more. You can also customize your pilot with various gears.
One of the biggest advantages of multiplayer is full cross-platform play, so whether it’s Xbox One, PC, or PS4, everyone can play together, so you won’t be short of friends to play together. Multiplayer was easy enough if you get used to flying spaceships, and the experience can be even more fascinating in virtual reality.
In multiplayer your main objective is to destroy your opponent’s fleet and if you play Fleet Battles, after you have destroyed them, you can go to destroy Capital Ships.
This is even more attractive as you can destroy huge spaceships and in the process you can change your starship and ultimately destroy the enemy flagship. Overall it was a delightful experience and the game was smooth too.
Then there’s the story mode and Star Wars: Squadrons has a good story to play with, whether you’re on the side of the New Republic or the Empire. You will have various missions to play and discover space and destroy enemies, explore spaceships and much more. The graphics in the story mode look more detailed and the overall experience is great too.
As a $ 40 game, Electronic Arts has gone to great lengths to make the game smooth and enjoyable. Multiplayer is a mixed bag as it is very predictive, but since it is simple, you can easily play it with your friends and colleagues. Well, if you’re a Star Wars fan and want a great game that lets you enjoy your flight journey, this one is great.
