  • Nokia has launched its first branded laptop in India.
  • Dubbed the Nokia PureBook X14, the ultrabook focuses on portability and multimedia performance.
  • It will be available later this month for ~ $ 816.

Nokia is not a brand normally associated with PCs, but it is apparently ready to change. Flipkart has now unveiled the first Nokia brand laptop in the form of the PureBook X14.

Aesthetically, it is not an exciting debut. The all-black machine prioritizes practicality, so users will have to settle for a fairly thick bottom bezel. The PureBook X14 supports a 14-inch 1080p IPS display with Dolby Vision. For audio lovers, there is also Dolby Atmos support for headphones.

The great trump card of the PureBook is its weight or its lack. It tips the scales at 1.1 kilograms, making it one of the most travel-friendly 14-inch laptops available.

Internally, the Nokia Purebook X14 is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core i5 chipset with 8GB of DDR4-2666 RAM and 512GB of NVMe-based SSD storage. Nokia mentions that the CPU can boost turbo up to 4.2GHz, suggesting that the i5-10210U is used here. It is unclear if there will be other chip options available in the future.

Gaming is not a major focus, so there is no dedicated GPU from Nvidia or AMD. Users will have to settle for the integrated UHD 620 graphics chip, which should be fine for older titles or lighter esports games.

For fans of productivity, the Nokia PureBook X14 also features a backlit keyboard. I / O includes two USB 3.1 ports, a single USB 2.0 port, and a single USB-C 3.1 port. HDMI, an RJ45 network jack, and a 3.5mm headphone jack complete the lineup.

Finally, Flipkart and Nokia cite a battery life of up to eight hours with their 46.7 WHr battery and pack a 65W charger with the package.

Nokia PureBook X14 price in India

Price-wise, the laptop will be available to pre-order on Flipkart from December 18 at a special introductory price of Rs 59,990 (~ $ 816). This makes you an attractive option if weight management is a priority, but leaves you vulnerable to your competition. For example, if weight is not a concern, the Mi Notebook 14 from Xiaomi, the smartphone maker, retails for less than Rs 50,000 (~ $ 680) in India and has a dedicated GPU.

Flipkart’s Nokia PureBook X14 listing also suggests that Rs 90,000 (~ $ 1,224) could be what you’ll have to pay for at a later date, making it a much less viable option.
