Susanna Reid has He sent Piers Morgan his best wishes while he awaits the results of his coronavirus test at home.
The Good Morning Britain presenter joined Ben Shephard on the show, who stepped in to temporarily replace Piers after announcing that he had “mild symptoms” and would be absent from the show.
“We send our best wishes to Piers and we will do our best when you are not here,” Susanna told the audience.
Dr. Hilary Jones went on to explain why it is okay for him, Susanna and Ben to continue to host the ITV breakfast program, and said, “Yesterday I spoke to Piers and he does not usually have symptoms associated with Covid-19.”
Then he joked: ‘I think you probably want to clean your car. Hopefully the test will be negative and it will come back tomorrow. “
Susanna continued: “It doesn’t affect us here in the studio because we are distancing ourselves socially.”
“We have adhered to the rules of social distancing,” agreed Dr. Hilary.
Piers announced Sunday that he will be absent from Good Morning Britain today after being tested for coronavirus.
The television presenter announced that, as a medical precaution, he was advised to take the test after showing a “mild symptom” related to the virus.

On Twitter, he wrote: ‘UPDATE: Out of medical advice, and out of caution for a mild symptom that arose in the past 48 hours, I was tested for COVID-19 and will not be working on @GMB until I retrieve the result, which should be morning.
Piers did not indicate the symptoms that he had begun to show were related to the coronavirus.
Good Morning Britain airs Monday through Friday at 6 a.m. on ITV.
