The news that Liverpool is slated to suspend its summer spending amid the coronavirus pandemic should come as no surprise.
As all football remains uncertain due to a global health crisis, the Reds will surely not be the only club to decide to take stock of the summer market and keep their powder dry.
Big money transfers aren’t likely to dominate the summer headlines as clubs hold on to what they have, but that could be a real watershed moment for some of the Reds’ best talents.
Jurgen Klopp has routinely given young players playing time during Liverpool’s 2019/20 campaign, but if there are no summer arrivals, these talents could be set for even bigger roles next season.
