Sam Smith was taken for a walk for his daily exercise, shortly after they ignored criticism of a photo of them crying locked up.

Sam cut a casual but elegant figure in jeans, a sweater, and white sneakers, while listening to music through his headphones and drinking coffee.

They were seen in North London, near where they are isolating themselves with their sister.

The snapshots come shortly after Sam shook off the backlash to a photo of him crying during shutdown.

In the photo, posted on Instagram, Sam could be seen crying in their heads outside their home, writing: “Stages of a quarantine crisis.”

But chatting with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston, Sam insisted that their critics didn’t understand the humor behind the post, and that it was a joke between themselves and their friends.

“It was more than six weeks ago and everyone else posted photos,” they explained.

“I use my social networks as if they were just my friends.”

Cut an elegant figure

Sam insisted that the photo was shared as part of a joke with classmates.

They added: “My humor was not picked up. I did not mean malice.

“I am sharing my feelings all the time, being as human as I can, maybe people misread it.”

Meanwhile, speaking to Zane Lowe for Apple Music, they deemed “100%” to have coronaviruses, and passed it on to their sister.

They believed they had had a coronavirus and passed it on to their sister.

“They didn’t test me,” they said, “but I know I have it, I have it 100%.”

“I’m going to assume I did it because everything I’ve read pointed it out completely. So yeah, I definitely think I’ve had it.”

“And then as soon as I had it, my sister, five days after me, started having the same symptoms that live with me.”
