We’ve all been there with a friend who wants to leave you seemingly endless voice notes on WhatsApp. Fortunately, help will be available soon, in the form of faster note playback.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing three different playback speeds for voice messages: 1.0x, 1.5x, and 2.0x. And while the feature appears to have been tested on Android first, the site claims it will be in a future iOS build as well.
The renowned WABetaInfo leak team notes that this feature is not yet available on any of the beta channels of WhatsApp for Android or iOS.
However, the screenshots indicate that it is coming out of internal testing and will appear in the coming weeks for anyone who has opted for the beta programs on either platform via Testflight.

Perhaps the biggest update rumored to come to WhatsApp is compatibility with the iPad.
For years, people have asked why the app is not available on Apple’s tablet, and the answer is that it is because WhatsApp only allows users to log in to one device at a time, and that their WhatsApp account it must be linked to your phone number.
The WhatsApp web interface can be accessed on the iPad through a browser (set to “desktop mode”), but that’s not an ideal solution, especially since it requires you to first log in with a phone.
However, previous reports from WABetaInfo indicate that a dedicated iPad app is on the way, as part of an update that will allow you to use WhatsApp on multiple devices simultaneously. Hopefully this comes sooner rather than later.
