If online leaks are to be believed, Amazon is gearing up for a massive PS5 restock in the near future. Originally, a restock was proposed for March 18, but PS5 buyers will have to wait longer.
Various PS5 tracking accounts have reported that Amazon has nearly 50,000 PS5 consoles ready to go, but it’s still unclear when the PS5 stock will materialize. When it arrives, you’ll have to be in your game to hook up a console, so we’ve got some tips below.
Amazon PS5 Restock Update Today
To update: As of 6:05 pm on March 21, Amazon is out of stock of PS5s, but TechRadar says that an Amazon PS5 restock could occur earlier this week.
YouTuber Jake randall Y Matt swider TechRadar, which has been tracking PS5 stocks for a while, suggested that the Amazon PS5 restock would be between 9 a.m. ET and 11 a.m. ET on March 18. But now it could happen as early as Monday possibly 10am. ET.
However, all hope is not lost, as various sources claim that the Amazon PS5 restocking could happen soon. So for now we are keeping a close eye on the site and will update if the stock situation changes.

PS5 Digital Edition: $ 399 at Amazon
Check Stock: The PS5 digital console lacks a 4K UDH Blu-ray disc drive. As a result, it is slightly thinner than its counterpart. It also retails for $ 399 ($ 100 less) and includes a PS5 DualSense controller.
Jake Randall too tweeted This week, Amazon plans to offer 46,000 PS5 consoles during its next PS5 restock. TechRadar’s Matt Swider has published evidence on Twitter today suggesting that this is still the case. So even though the timeslot has clearly moved, there are still signs that Amazon is planning a massive PS5 restock very soon.
You didn’t miss it. The Amazon PS5 restocking was scheduled for today at 14:00 UTC (10am ET). It could go down at any moment, it’s up to Amazon Best Buy last Friday was 3 hours late for me. Everyone doubted then too. Good news? Amazon has an inventory of 46,000 PS5s, just waiting. I will ping you. The information is free pic.twitter.com/c7UGidMjSKMarch 18, 2021
While we typically don’t get hard numbers when it comes to console restocks, 46,000 units seem like a good amount for PS5s. This could mean that this week will be the best chance since the launch date for players eager to get their hands on a system.
Similar reports have been flying across the pond, with several stock-tracking accounts claiming that Amazon UK would drop PS5 shares this week alongside its American counterpart.
This proved to be very accurate as yesterday (March 17) Amazon UK restocked with both the PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition. Give players another chance to get their hands on these highly sought after machines.
Amazon UK will be unavailable early next week (15-17) and Smyths Toys by the end of next week (18-20). I’ve also been asked many times and would like to clarify that ShopTo is a legitimate retailer that sells the PS5. They are well established as online retailers.March 14, 2021
This is a great indication that reports of a massive Amazon PS5 restock are more than wishful thinking, as Amazon has restocked multiple regions within a few days of each other in the past.
Of course, until restocking happens, it’s important to remember that these are technically just rumors and that Amazon hasn’t officially confirmed anything.
The retailer generally goes out of stock without notice, we don’t expect to know the validity of these rumors until later in the week. However, with so many reputable PS5 stock tracking accounts corroborating the information, it definitely appears that there is at least some truth to the rumors.
PS5 stock is replenished more regularly than ever at the moment, suggesting that the stock issues that have plagued the console since launch are starting to dissipate.
If Amazon does indeed have a PS5 restock later today, it should be good to go. 46,000 PS5 certainly sounds like a lot, but stocks are likely to sell out in minutes as gamers and (unfortunately) resellers vie for the console. Here are our top tips to help you be one of the lucky few to receive that elusive order confirmation email.
How to get a PS5 on Amazon this Thursday
There is no guaranteed formula for success when it comes to securing a PS5 during an Amazon restock, but there are a few things you can do to tilt the odds in your favor.
First of all, make sure you have an Amazon account set up in advance. Do you also have the address information and payment details saved previously?
Getting shares in your basket is only half the battle, once you’ve done it, it’s a race to complete the payout. If you get stuck entering your card number and zip code, the console is likely to run out as you type.
Signing up for Amazon Prime is also useful if you want fast shipping, but it won’t give you a head start on buying a PS5; You do not need to subscribe to get the first access to a refill.
A slightly strange trick from Amazon that has been circulating recently is that by putting the console on your wish list ahead of time when it restocks, you can add it to your cart from there. This allows you to skip the listing page, which practically always crashes due to overwhelming traffic.
With this trick, you can usually get stock in your basket by the time the restock is active, and that gives you a pretty hefty advantage over people who are stuck trying to update the actual PS5 listing page in the hope that work.
Make sure you have the PS5 on your wish list ahead of time, as you can still add it even when the console is out of stock. Do this long before refueling occurs to make use of this trick.
We tested this method ourselves the last time Amazon restocked the Xbox Series X, and we can confirm that it does indeed work. We managed to put the X Series in our basket four times, while we were unable to put the console in our basket once via the listing page because it kept crashing.
Also, be sure to keep our PS5 refueling guide checked as we’ll update it with any additional information about the latest Amazon PS5 refueling the moment we get it.
