A new private industrial park, the Lemi National Cement Industrial Complex, which requires investment capital of $ 2.2 billion, will be built in Ethiopia’s Amhara region by private investors.
Ethiopian President Sahle-work Zewde laid the cornerstone of the new Lemi National Cement Stock Company Industrial Complex. The new park is owned by East Africa Holdings, which is known to be involved in several manufacturing companies, including the National Cement Factory. For its new industrial park, National Cement has partnered with the Chinese company West International Holding.
The Lemi National Cement Share Company Industrial Complex will be built on 270 hectares of land in the Lemi area. The $ 2.2 billion Lemi industrial complex will have many factories, including the cement factory in Africa with a production capacity of 10,000 tons of cement with an investment capital of $ 600,000.
The new industrial park will be built near Ensaro Wereda (district (known for its shrink material resources including inputs for cement, gypsum, silica sand, black stone ore, iron ore, among others).
The cornerstone laying ceremony indicates that construction of the Lemi National Cement Share Company Industrial Complex is expected to be completed in the next five to seven years. Among the factories to be included in the new industrial park are the manufacture of drywall and glass.
It is also indicated that to participate in the construction of the new industrial park, some 3,000 people from the area will be trained. Bizuayehu Tadelle Bizenu East Africa Holdings, which is primarily owned and managed by its president, currently has more than 5,000 employees working in a dozen companies.
