Are you planning to update your smartphone? This review could help you decide between an Android and an iPhone, if you like photography, social media, and using your phone for entertainment and connecting with others.
TM Roh, President and CEO, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics rightly noted that: “We live in a world where mobile devices come first, and with so many of us working remotely and spending more time at home, we wanted to deliver an experienced phone that meets the rigorous multimedia demands of our ever-changing routines. ”His statement was spot on.
“We also recognize the importance of choice, especially now, and that is why the Galaxy S21 series gives you the freedom to choose the best device for your style and needs,” he said. The Galaxy S series has always been pushing the benchmark for mobile experiences since its entry to the market in 2010 and the latest baby in the series, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, certainly left a great first impression.
Having told us incessantly how iPhones are light years ahead of the competition, we compared the new S21 Ultra to an Apple iPhone to see how they stack up in terms of multimedia specs. Here’s how the S21 Ultra fared.
1. Take beautiful studio-quality photos
As iPhone users, we can’t beat the quad rear camera. To launch the camera, you just need to press the side button on the right twice and voila! The 3x and 10x optical zoom function is really great for close-ups or if you want to get closer to a distant subject without having to worry about shake or image quality, all thanks to the new Zoom Lock stabilization function. Photos are much sharper (this is a major advantage for the S21 Ultra) even in enlarged images and colors are more vivid as well (although we still prefer the more natural tone of the iPhone). A common problem among iPhone users is their inability to take proper photos in low light, but that’s not a problem at all with the S21 Ultra, where the advanced ‘Night’ mode is a huge help in reducing noise. Next on our must-see photo list, a photo of the moon!
2. Professional-looking video recording for social media
With increasing video consumption, we believe the S21 Ultra is just what you need to create professional-looking videos. Tap the “More” feature and it opens up to a whole new world of content creation. The aspect ratio and resolution options are easy to use for managing file sizes, and the Pro Video feature lets you choose frame rates and resolutions with a couple of taps. The S21 Ultra is highly recommended for social media hobbyists, content creators, vloggers, and video enthusiasts.
3. Watch Netflix and relax
We can’t forget about the phone’s 6.8-inch Dynamic Amoled display, and it’s quite satisfying to watch videos on this device that claims to have “the smartest display yet.” What it means is that, for the first time, you can enjoy a 120Hz refresh rate and a Quad HD + display without having to choose just one, while lengthening your battery life. Clarity is excellent on the curved edge-to-edge screen and is no match for the iPhone. For the best audio experience, we highly recommend Samsung’s most premium headphones to date: the Galaxy Buds Pro.
4. Have a better Zoom (or Teams) meeting experience
While we are all socially distancing ourselves to break the Covid-19 chain, it doesn’t mean you can’t get together with your friends and catch up on Zoom. Have you seen those grainy screenshots of virtual events on social media? It won’t be yours if you are using the S21 Ultra. It is also perfect for interviews and webinars. For better call quality, the Galaxy Buds Pro are your best companions. They can separate your voice from unwanted sounds, so it can be heard clearly, and it can also reduce background noise by 99 percent. This is perfect for those who work from home with young children. A big yay for S21 Ultra!
