The Ethiopia Advocacy Network and the Ethio-American Citizen’s House of Federation today launched a media campaign entitled ‘Unity for Ethiopia’ aimed at countering the intensified misinformation of TPLF activities on the current situation in the country.

Seyoum Assefa, a member of the campaign committee, told local media that the disinformation campaign must be countered before it instigates violence.

Seyoum explained that TPLF supporters are using manipulated content to misrepresent the situation in the state of Tigray.

Noting that the Diaspora Twitter campaign aims to counter this misrepresentation of the facts, Seyoum indicated that every Ethiopian has a responsibility to participate in the media campaign.

Organizers of the movement called on Ethiopians around the world to take part in the Twitter campaign. Ethiopians must participate meaningfully in the campaign regardless of ideological differences.

As for him, the campaign is an action plan established in response to Prime Minister Abiy (PhD) call for Diaspora’s active involvement in countering attempts at disinformation and misinformation by TPLF associates.

The campaign would help lessen the problems seen in the country due to propaganda, he said.
