TikTok has launched a big screen app for Android TV.
It looks like the app that was launched in the UK on Samsung TVs late last year, the videos are played vertically in a main feed that provides access to specific categories. Users can also view their own profiles and others.
However, there have been multiple reports that the application is not available in the Google Play store on some devices. Even when logging in, some users have reported geoblocking error messages.
Since those reports, Google has clarified that the app is currently available on Google and Android TV operating system devices in the UK, France and Germany.
Rich Waterworth, General Manager of TikTok UK, said: “We are excited to bring the creativity and joy of TikTok to Google TV and other Android TV operating system devices in Europe. The TikTok TV experience will be a new way for people to come together and enjoy videos from some of our most popular content categories on the big screen.
“Whether it’s learning a new skill or just having fun together watching what you love, now more than ever, I feel like this is a brilliant way for people to enjoy their favorite TikTok content at home.”
