Windhoek – Bill Gates is trying to control the world. The vaccine will be used to eliminate Africa as part of a secular population control plan. Big Pharma created the virus and can now make billions from supplying the vaccine. The vaccine has not been properly tested and has been released quickly.
These and other fears have dominated social dialogue in Africa and indeed around the world for the past month as COVID-19 vaccines are rolled out.
In Asia, America, Australia and Europe, the rollout has begun, and not without controversy.
Around 30 Norwegians have died after taking the Pfizer-BioNT vaccine, and several countries have required pharmaceutical companies to explain what is happening, although the Norwegian authorities themselves have said they are not overly concerned and support the vaccine’s efficacy. .
But the situation is not improved by the fact that drug manufacturers demand compensation in all countries that use their vaccines. On the other hand, proponents say such a demand is understandable considering that companies did not have the four or five years generally required to develop a vaccine due to the current emergency.
Explaining the deaths
Experts say that any mass vaccination campaign will result in extreme side effects, including death.
This is as true for COVID-19 vaccines as it has been for childhood immunization programs that have been running in Africa for decades.
Bloomberg quoted the Norwegian Medicines Agency as saying: “The Norwegian Medicines Agency has communicated, prior to vaccination, that by vaccinating the oldest and sickest, deaths are expected to occur in a context related to the time of vaccination. . This does not mean that there is a causal link between vaccination and death.
“Also, in relation to the reported deaths, we have conveyed that it is possible that the common and known side effects of the vaccines were a contributing factor to a serious course or fatal outcome.”
Side effects and deaths have also been reported in the United Kingdom and the United States. In India, after two days of vaccinations, the Union Ministry of Health said that adverse side effects had occurred in 0.2 percent of the 2,24,301 beneficiaries (447 people).
Big money scheme?
Another claim circulating is that the vaccine is a big money scheme by Western governments and corporations, based on people’s fear.
Yes, vaccines are expensive. But in Africa they are heavily subsidized through schemes like the COVAX facility and another jointly managed by the African Union and the World Health Organization.
African countries will pay between US $ 3 and US $ 10 per dose for the 270 million injections insured by the AU.
According to Reuters, the prices are heavily discounted compared to what developed countries pay.
However, US $ 10 per dose remains high for most of the continent, and the head of the Jubilee Debt Campaign, Mr. Tim Jones, warns that “No country should have to go into debt to pay for the vaccine.”
Dr. John Nkengasong, director of the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), says: “My view is that the market for vaccines will open in the next few months, when, for example, Johnson & Johnson and others hit the market. For now, the fundamental thing is access to the market, ensure quantities and start vaccinating ”.
Population control
A popular claim is that COVID-19 and the vaccine are part of a nefarious attempt to reduce Africa’s population so that Western countries can more fully control the continent’s natural resources.
Observers note that this is extremely unlikely for the simple reason that there have been far more COVID-19 infections and deaths in the West than in Africa. How exactly, observers ask, would the West seek to control Africa’s population and resources by creating a virus and a vaccine that decimates its own people?
In a recent webinar on debunking the myths surrounding the vaccine, Dr. Nokukhanya Msomi, director of virology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, also pointed out how these control theories have been linked to microchip tracking and DNA alteration.
The claim is that 5G mobile telecommunications masts are linked to the spread of the novel coronavirus, and about four towers in the KwaZulu-Natal province were set on fire last week by people who believe the conspiracy theory.
The Chairman of the South African Independent Communications Authority, Keabetswe Modimoeng, urged people “not to be carried away by these conspiracy theories that are bent on bringing instability and fear within the nation.”
Modimoeng added: “We must all rely on scientifically based evidence and refrain from these unfounded theories. Such false theories can only cause unnecessary despair and technophobia among South Africans and must be strongly condemned. “
On the subject of DNA alteration, which some people claim will result in African women becoming infertile, the scientists explain that the vaccine does not even enter the recipient’s DNA.
Mark of the beast
However, another theory circulating is that the vaccine and the virus are somehow linked to the 666 mark of the beast as recounted in the biblical book of Revelation.
In South Africa, this has even led to an official complaint being filed against the country’s Chief Justice, Mogoeng Mogoeng, a prominent defender of the conspiracy theory.
The African Alliance filed a complaint with the Judicial Service Commission after Judge Mogoeng on December 10, 2020 allegedly said: “If there is any vaccine that is the work of the devil, intended to infuse 666 into people’s lives, intended to corrupt their DNA, let it be destroyed by fire … “
The next day, the president of the Supreme Court insisted: “If there is a vaccine with 666, I want God to destroy it. If there is any vaccine intended to corrupt people’s DNA, I ask God to discontinue it. Any clean vaccine, they must produce it quickly … I don’t care about the consequences, we have been quiet for too long, following the line. I’m not going to follow the line, and no matter how many people criticize me… I don’t know anything about vaccines. What I can say now is that I don’t think the vaccine should be mandatory … You can’t give people a vaccine. “
The African Alliance says the comments may cause “widespread confusion and fear about the safety of vaccines in general and the COVID-19 vaccine in particular,” all the more so at a time when the government is planning its immunization rollout.
“In turn, this can make it easier for people to mislead and / or spread false information about the Covid-19 vaccine,” the organization added.
Widespread mistrust
It is not only in Africa that people are skeptical about the vaccine. A recent poll says that around 72 percent of blacks in the UK have their suspicions. The numbers are equally high in the United States.
Researchers at CompariSure say 52 percent of South Africans surveyed say they will not get vaccinated. The main fears are side effects, religious considerations, cost, and other factors as varied as fear of needles and fear of “government tracking.”
Another M4Jam poll says 84 percent of those surveyed don’t want to get vaccinated, even when they see infections and deaths around them.
Mr. Georgie Midgley, CEO of M4Jam, attributes high resistance to widespread misinformation.
