Conor McGregor’s trainer ‘accidentally reveals’ training secrets and asks for video to be removed

Conor McGregor’s trainer may have revealed some of the Irishman’s training secrets before his return to UFC 257.

John Kavanagh, McGregor’s longtime coach, was speaking to Ariel Helwani just days before the 32-year-old faces Dustin Poirier for the second time.

But while giving a glimpse of the Notorious training ground, he seemed to be giving too much when he said McGregor had been training orthodox far more than his usual southpaw approach.

Apparently realizing that he had made a slip, he then asked Helwani to delete that part of the video interview.

“Let’s see if some of the predictions we made between ourselves about what the damaging shots would be, the mostly Orthodox training for the entire camp has paid off,” said the 44-year-old.

After a brief pause, Kavanagh added, “Take that away, take that away, can you cut that off?” – to what Helwani said he would do.

However, that 43 minute long section of the chat is included in the YouTube video and some fans were a bit upset by that decision.
