Hopefully, you’ve already picked our coverage of the AMD Ryzen Mobile 5000 Series processor launch, and it’s important to know that Nvidia also released its GeForce RTX 30 Series laptop GPUs last night. Of course, you can’t build your own PCs with any of these mobile processor families, so it’s interesting to see which key industry partners like Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Lenovo, etc. they can evoke. Can these more modern portable powerhouses tempt you to leave your desktop days behind (but you might want to use a desktop docking system for a large screen, mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse, etc.)? Let’s take a look at some tantalizing laptops Asus featured last night at its ROG Citadel XV interactive experience.
Two ASUS ROG at 15 FR
The first Asus part “game weaponry” I would like to highlight is the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. This sleek dual-screen gaming machine is powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile processor CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics. That’s a lot of horsepower in a slim chassis and Asus is eager to say its cooling system The updated Active Aerodynamic System Plus (AAS +) is up to the task and is relatively quiet thanks in part to the additional air intake below the secondary display. and new Arc Flow fans paired with four liquid metal thermal composite heatsinks and five heatpipes.
As you can guess from the model number, the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE features a 15-inch main display. This is available in your choice of a 120Hz 4K display with 100% Adobe RGB color space coverage or a 300Hz FHD display with 3ms response time and 100% sRGB color space coverage. Both 15-inch panels are Pantone validated and feature slim bezel designs and Adaptive-Sync technology.
The accompanying ScreenPad Plus sub-panel (3840×1100 pixels) is a natural choice for “surf the web, read emails, chat through instant messaging applications or to stream or record games” recognizes Asus. Buyers will get XSplit Gamecaster to monitor their streams while playing games on the main screen. Asus says it is working with various software vendors, particularly on content creation to make the secondary display even more useful.
For a full spectrum multimedia experience, Asus says it has implemented improved speakers, Dolby Atmos, 3D precision audio, and two-way AI noise cancellation. Other specs you might like to know are: up to 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, Wi-Fi 6, 1x 3.5mm combo audio jack, 1x HDMI 2.0b, 3x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1x Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 with power delivery and display port, 1 RJ45 LAN port, 1 microSD card reader, per key-backlit RGB keyboard, and Windows 10 Pro operating system. Asus ROG Flow X13
If you’re looking for something more portable, Asus hopes to tempt you with its 13-inch ultraportable gaming laptop called the ROG Flow X13. Other nice connectivity specs are the dedicated USB 3.2 Gen 2 link, which powers an I / O hub with additional connectivity, and a built-in 280W AC adapter, which powers both the XG Mobile Dock and Flow X13.

Regardless of the type of panel you choose, it will have a 16:10 aspect ratio, be Pantone validated, and support Adaptive Sync.
The cooling technology is built on the same foundation as the Zephyrus, with liquid metal used as a thermal compound and triple heat sinks, fan outlets, and the new Arc Flow fans with self-cleaning thermal module.
