The conflict in the Tigray region has dramatically receded at such a rate that it surprised and shocked friends and foes alike. A transitional government has been installed. Local leaders have been freely and freely elected. Command posts for security are being established. Electricity, water and communications are back in service. And more.

However, it is true that problems persist, but they are not insurmountable with time, peace and security. The capture of the cabal’s leaders will certainly contribute to that end.

The other day I was on the phone with a relative who was mourning the recent loss of a close relative. However, the conversation quickly descended to the hot political story of the day and I quickly threw a question at him: “What did you think of the capture of Aboy Sibhet and others?” The grieving relative replied, “First, I didn’t think it was true; I thought it was fake. But then when I realized it was true, I cried with tears running down my cheeks. “He added,” I’m sorry, but that’s what I felt at the time despite everything he and they had done. dead and we didn’t need to witness this heartbreaking scene of a shattered old man being pulled out of the caves in such a dramatic way. ” As I listened to the response, I was faced with empathy, compassion, love, hate, and more.

This article attempts to briefly narrate the tragic, catastrophic and fantastic end of the ruthless 30-year dynasty of the TPLF cabal.

The tragic attack

As the late spokesman for the clique, who was assassinated during one of the last operations, the Ethiopian National Defense Forces of the Northern Command admitted triumphantly, but too prematurely, they were attacked atrociously and cowardly with “thunderous” speed, while asleep. The tragic scenario of this conflict involved hundreds of thousands of personnel from the army, special forces and militias from multiple regional regions of the country. In this, the so-called “thunderous” attack, the clique forced large numbers of young and underage boys and girls, serving as cannon fodder. The indelible images of the young and old who were captured and injured during the conflict will remain as another vivid reminder of the cruelty of the clique that violently and wickedly ruled the country for nearly 30 years.

The clique destroyed the country without any qualms, or shame. They dominated the government, the military, intelligence, business, finance, culture, education, and more. To give a better perspective on this absolute domination, I would quote some figures from a report by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed during his parliamentary appearance on November 30, 2020. He noted that “in the federal defense force, 60 percent of the Ranking officers of the overall total are from the Tigray region, while the remaining 40 percent came from the rest of Ethiopia. If we go down one notch to the rank of lieutenant general, the numbers are lower; 50 percent are from the Tigray region. If we go down one step to the rank of Major General, 45 percent are from the same region. At the rank of brigadier general, 40 percent are from the Tigray region. Fifty-eight percent of the colonels, 66 percent of the lieutenant colonels, 53 percent of the majors are also from the Tigray region. “

With other surprising numbers, he continued: “At Defense Headquarters, 80 percent of the high-level officers are from Tigray. The numbers I mentioned above were relatively less critical because even if there were a lot of Amhara or Oromo generals, the actual power remained at this 80 percent. What does this mean? These officers know the types of weapons available in the defense force. They know the available training and the lines of communication. Everything was in his hands ”.

In another shocking account, he added, “Let’s look one step further down. Below the headquarters, there are commandos. Of all the commandos in Ethiopia, one hundred percent of their commanders were from the Tigray region. One hundred percent of the subcommanders were also from Tigray. Especially in the Northern Command, the commander, the deputy commander, the logistics and the administration were in the hands of the people of Tigray ”.

The iniquitous scandal is that the Tigrayans make up only about 6% of Ethiopia’s 110 million people. Yes, only 6 percent!

Reasons why the clique miscalculated the outcome of the conflict abound, which primarily includes the vastly disproportionate composition of Tigrayans in the military and intelligence. The second was the hugely unbalanced firepower of the Tigray-hosted Northern Command, who orchestrated its blockade so that it would not move from Tigray, in anticipation of this act of treason. The third was an over-reliance on his puppets and operatives across the country and beyond to make their violent offers during the inauguration. It could also be added that the clique was surprised by the Prime Minister’s action in modernizing the army’s capabilities without his knowledge.

In a miscalculation of colossal proportions, utter reliance on a “thunderous” victory, and the anticipated impunity of the international community through its paid operatives and shenanigans, the forces of the clique slaughtered the army in a ruthless, cruel and cowardly manner. The climax of the heinous crime peaked when the forces of the clique mercilessly massacred unarmed civilians on My-Kadra as they savored for the first time a devastating defeat on the battlefield.

The catastrophic defeat

The clique also miscalculated that once the Northern Command was attacked and dismantled, the entire federal army would simply collapse, following the ethnic lines it has drawn relentlessly and forcefully during its tenure. On the contrary, the entire army stood firm and fought with incredible bravery in retribution to their comrades in arms who were executed while in their camps and while they slept.

The turn of events was so dramatic that Cabal forces were ripped apart at such breakneck speed that they fled in humiliating defeat. Hundreds and thousands of the clique forces surrendered or took prisoners when the entire coup plan failed catastrophically. Cabal forces were shot down from a highly sophisticated situation room in Addis Ababa coordinating reconnaissance and strike drones that they mistakenly attributed to foreign powers.

In an unprecedented media blitz, the perpetrators were portrayed as empowered victims by well-oiled operatives, pranks, and party loyalists. The subversion of those loyal to the diaspora parties and of those in the main international organizations and media was obscenely evident.

However, most of these highly coordinated multi-front cabal attacks failed miserably in saving the barbarian cabal from catastrophic doom.

The fantastic ending

At the time of this writing, several high-ranking former officials led by the founders of the cabal and former presidents of the region, were hoarded and roared on a plane to Addis Ababa in a very dramatic and historical way.

The retreat of the cabal leader, and his dejected retinue, from extremely treacherous hideouts in caves, ravines and gorges fantastically culminates the era of a brutal dynasty whose greed and arrogance were unparalleled. Yet it is tremendously tragic to witness the hideous warriors walking in chains as the bodies of their young infantrymen, who had so much to live for, crumble on these perilous terrain.

In the disappearance of the clique, the Ethiopian government, and in particular the army and police, have exhibited outstanding discipline not only in conducting operations, but also in handling their most staunch enemies who attacked and slaughtered them. Congratulations to the military, and to its brave leaders, who have shown exceptional discipline and professionalism.

In conclusion

It is extremely painful to contemplate the liquidation of a large contingent of the clique forces by the army before the spiteful leaders were detained in their cowardly hiding places. These wicked murderers in their last days, who survived the disappearance of the young men, should have known, and done, better than submit. Of course, they were not concerned about a sin, if they were contemplating suicide. Well, instead of reading the books of Saddam Hussein and Muammar al-Gaddafi, they should have consulted Emperor Tewodros at home.

So far the false tale of the clique’s bravery and heroism that had been unleashed incessantly for 30 years.

In his speech to parliament, Prime Minister Abiy lamented: “The pay policy has never helped us. Every time a new government is installed, we start from scratch and this has left Ethiopia in a backward state. So, we choose to take the path of forgiveness and reconciliation ”.

Forgiveness and reconciliation are only proposed for those who have a heart for tango. But then it took two to tango.

I would not curse the old clique for snubbing tango.
