Western Digital has unveiled a series of new 4 TB hard drives at CES 2021.
Western Digital offers 4 TB of capacity across a range of its portable hard drives, providing consumers and professionals with the storage they need for authoring, consumption and gaming.
The first is the new SanDisk Extreme Pro portable SSD, with NVMe solid state technology, the Extreme Pro offers read and write speeds of up to 2000MB / s. The Pro also comes with a forged aluminum chassis that functions as a heatsink to dissipate heat and maintain optimal performance. The Pro will be available later this quarter at an estimated price of $ 749.
The SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD, less ‘Pro’ but no less formidable, also gets the 4TB treatment, offering users read and write speeds of 1050MB / s and 1000MB / s respectively. The rugged design offers protection against two meter drops plus resistance to water and dust with an IP55 rating. Again, it will be available later this quarter at around $ 699.

If you are a gamer, look no further than the new WD_Black P50 Game Drive SSD. Beneath the distinctive design, you’ll find 4TB of storage and read speeds of up to 2000MB / s for super-fast load times, so you can spend more time gaming. This will work with Xbox, PlayStation, or PC. The P50 will be available for $ 749.
Lastly, we have My Passport SSD from WD, with a distinctive metallic design and a range of colors, My Passport offers protection against drops of more than six feet and read and write speeds similar to those of SanDisk Extreme. The new 4TB My Passport SSD will retail for $ 679.
The four new hard drives will be available later this quarter in the Western Digital store and at select retailers.
