Slack decreases as the world returns to work

It’s the first business day of the year for many people around the world, but Slack has decided to take an extra vacation. The service has dropped for users around the world.

Millions of people trying to use Slack see error messages like this:

A message on Slack’s status page reads: “Customers may have trouble loading channels or connecting to Slack at this time. Our team is investigating and we will give you more information as soon as we have it. We apologize for any disruption caused. “

This is not the first recent outage from Slack. The service took a dip in October, which the company described rather euphemistically as “degraded performance.”

The outages are not what Salesforce recently raised $ 27.7 billion for, when the company announced it was buying Slack. What Salesforce plans to do with its new acquisition remains to be seen, but the server upgrade could be a start.
