Grand Theft Auto 6 “not coming soon,” says Insider

A former Rockstar insider tells fans that GTA 6 isn’t coming anytime soon and that he has no idea when it will be announced. But at least it’s in development.

A former Rockstar member has dashed fans’ hopes by stating that Grand theft auto 6 it won’t come soon. The long-awaited open-world action game is the natural continuation of one of the most famous video game franchises of all time. Its predecessor, Grand theft auto 5, released in 2013 with universal success, and to this day holds the record for the second best-selling video game of all time. Eight long years after that powerhouse, fans are still waiting for news on its sequel, which has yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, GTA Fans have had to deal with Cayo Perico. The new heist is a major expansion for GTA Online, a multiplayer derivative of GTA 5. It’s the biggest heist introduced to the game since its launch, and the first that players can fully tackle in single player, if they so choose. While this is a major development for the game, it has been held back by some disappointing reveals, notably the discovery that fans cannot freely explore the expansive island of Perico Key outside of specific heist missions. Disappointment aside, expansion is still important; so much so that some have wondered if the work on it has been what is holding back GTA 6.

It sure seems like something has been holding on GTA 6, in any case. Trusted Former Rockstar Connoisseur Yan2295 led to Twitter (via Rant game) to share some ideas about the development of the project. On the bright side, Yan2295 confirmed that the game is, indeed, in development. Unfortunately, he went on to say that the game is not coming anytime soon, and furthermore, he has no idea when it will be announced or revealed. He also acknowledged how many people have been asking him about GTA 6 assuring fans that they can now stop asking you and placing the tweet at the top of their feed; one can only imagine the volume of GTA 6 related inquiries you must have received.

This is not good news for fans of GTA, who have already been waiting years for the slightest news. These poor private fans have been wading through endless re-releases of GTA 5, not much different from what fans of Ancient documents I’ve had to wait for news about Elder Scrolls 6. But at least those poor players got a thirty-second lead. If what Yan2295 says is true, it is not known how long it will be before GTA fans get so much.

I hope things look better for GTA fans in no time. Rockstar has been dragging them through excessive ports and disappointing online expansions for far too long. If Yan2295 is being honest, then at least the company is actively working on the long-awaited GTA 6. Maybe that’s enough to get fans through the long months ahead.
