In an interview with Addisu Abebe, a former Voice of America Amharic service journalist who now works for Menelik Television, Tigist Mengistu (daughter of Colonel Mengistu Hailemariam) talks about herself, her father, and the situation in Ethiopia.
She began to cry notably when she spoke about how her father, a revolutionary leader who ruled Ethiopia for about 17 years, cannot return to his country. He said one of the things he wants to see in his life is to see his father, who is now in his seventies, return to Ethiopia before he dies.
He also commented on the current situation in Ethiopia and the unfair pressure that the international community is exerting on Ethiopia due to the war in the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).
