Rumors of an Nvidia RTX 3080 card with 20GB of RAM have skyrocketed since it was first announced. Given the gap between the current 10GB RTX 3080 and the RTX 3090’s 24GB, it seemed obvious that Nvidia would eventually fill that niche with a new SKU. But so far very little concrete evidence has emerged for an RTX 3080 Ti (or RTX 3080 Super).
According to PCGamesN, the HXL leaker saw a database entry on the Asus support page that lists two models of 20GB RTX 3080 Ti cards. Also, the leaker noticed two entries for an RTX 3060 with 12GB of RAM. Unfortunately these have been removed, but HXL’s reputation is good enough that its screenshot is not a hoax.
The models listed follow the typical Asus naming pattern. If previous Asus cards are anything to go through, the difference between the two models is that one will be factory overclocked and the other will run at stock speeds.

Nvidia’s RTX 30 series has been praised for its lower cost and higher performance compared to RTX 20 series cards. However, the line launched without a card that filled the same niche as the GTX 1080 Ti and RTX. 2080 Ti. The omission of a model that falls between the RTX 3080’s $ 699 and the RTX 3090’s $ 1,499 price tag is evident considering there are many users who want more RAM, but not necessarily higher performance.
Although the existence of RTX 3060 and RTX 3080 cards with more RAM is almost confirmed, no other details have been leaked. Given the supply issues with the initial RTX 30 series card models, we are likely to see another release on paper if the new GPUs launch soon.
