Anonymous, 1 hour agoBut Mi 10 ultra lacks water resistance. I’m pretty sure it’s waterproof, but without IP rating. Anyway, you shouldn’t be swimming with your phone. No warranty from phone manufacturers covers water damage, even for ip68 certified phones.

3089954I agree with the OnePlus 8 Pro. It was that particular phone that prevented me from buying the Sony Xperia 1 ii. Despite the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack, the OnePlus is easily a Google Pixel-worthy alternative for a much cheaper price than Sony’s.
9551363I’m disappointed that you didn’t touch the Sony Xperia 5 mk II, which was clearly the best phone of the year. Closely followed by the Sony 1.2, and then the OnePlus 8 Pro.
Overall, I was quite disappointed because there was not much innovation this year.

OnePlus: pretty poor deals, except for its new flagship, which is awesome
Xiaomi: pushing the envelope, but the price increases were not to the liking
Realme: standout competitor when it comes to value (modders love it)

Xiaomi’s flagships have decent enough water resistance without an official IP rating.
Look for some evidence on YouTube.
They are more than enough to withstand the occasional accidental fall of water.

This is true.
I got a couple of calls after the launch of the IPhone 12 series from people thanking me for importing and delivering the MI 10 ultra to their doorstep.
All of these guys previously used Apple or Samsung flagships.
They wanted an update, they were disappointed with the Exynos inside the Samsung S20 / Note 20 Ultra and the mediocre leaks of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
These people seemed very happy with their decision to avoid Apple this year. Many of them saved around Rs. 40k by ditching the weak iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Selling cheap hardware at a premium price doesn’t exactly meet premium standards in 2020. Competitors offer a lot more features and a much better experience at a lower price.
Sales are only part of the story. You can’t just call a movie great based on how many people ended up going to theaters. Many average movies make a lot of money at the box office, but they are rarely a mark of greatness
You can’t get left behind with outdated technology and win the Manufacturer of the Year award.
So Apple is banned this year. Your desperate attempts to copy Android have failed, and these days hardly anyone gets excited about a @pple product except you know who …
