For example, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess said on many occasions that classic manufacturers must wake up because many new players will enter the market with new approaches to car design and use design. He also said that Volkswagen needs to change quickly if it doesn’t want to become a Nokia of the auto industry.
He also said that rapid changes to the business plan by Nokia saved the company and that Volkswagen will have to do the same. Apple will bring better communication and connectivity technology to the game, which will make them more dangerous for Volkswagen than Toyota, for example.
A Turkish site also mentioned something interesting that Dies apparently knows about. According to them, Dies knows that Nokia will enter the auto industry, but the site did not mention the exact plans of the Finnish telecommunications giant.
