With several Nintendo Switch consoles no doubt finding new owners this week, Nintendo is obviously leveraging its large franchises in ad campaigns. The largest franchise in the company – Super Mario – celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, and as part of that anniversary celebration, Nintendo released Super Mario 3D All-Stars in September. Today, the company has published a new announcement focused solely on one of the games of Super Mario 3D All-Stars: Super mario galaxy.
While the announcement is nothing special on its own, we must say that it reminds us of what is probably the biggest missed opportunity in Super Mario 3D All-Stars. The compilation functions Super mario 64, Super Mario Sunshineand Super mario galaxy, but there is a key game that does not include, and it Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Some people have suggested that Nintendo might plan to bring Super Mario Galaxy 2 to change separately, like Super Mario 3D All-Stars shows that Switch can emulate Wii games. Whether or not that’s actually the case remains to be seen, but in fact, it’s not hard to imagine Nintendo wanting to bring N64, GameCube, and Wii games to the Switch after emulating games from all three consoles on.
