The next OnePlus Nord SE will be almost identical to the OnePlus Nord, apparently. This information comes from Max jambor, one of the best tipsters (OnePlus) out there.
He shared the following sentence on Twitter: “Nord SE – same but looks different.” That alone doesn’t say much, but Max Jambor shared more information directly with Android Headlines, explaining what he wanted to say.

Based on that information, the OnePlus Nord SE is the OnePlus Nord with a different backplate. That backplate was designed by Joshua Vides, the source claims. However, the rest of the phone is exactly the same.
At the moment, we don’t know what the back plate will look like yet, but we assume that it will be considerably different than the normal model. Still, we are probably looking at a glass still, with a different pattern under that glass.
Mr. Jambor even mentioned that the specifications will remain the same. Also don’t expect any changes to the front of the device. When will this phone be released? Well that’s something we don’t know yet.
The phone will likely be released in the near future.
The insider said that the OnePlus Nord SE will be released “at some point,” so he has no information yet. However, OnePlus is likely to do so soon, but probably not before the end of the year.
OnePlus likes to preview its next devices. Although this is not a new smartphone, we likely have some clue that it will come. If I had to guess I’d say it will be released in early 2021, but we’ll see.
OnePlus released quite a few smartphones this year, more than ever. It released three flagship devices, and several of those that cover the budget and mid-range categories. The OnePlus Nord SE will fall into that mid-range category, alongside the regular OnePlus Nord. Stay tuned, more information will likely be out soon.
