Several Google services are briefly disconnected after a powerful authentication problem

Many of Google LLC’s most used services, including Gmail, Google Docs, and Maps, were temporarily disconnected Monday morning as a result of a problem with an internal authentication system.

The Google Assistant outage also spread to other products that rely on the voice assistant, including the search giant’s popular Nest line of smart home devices.

the The outage comes weeks after Amazon Web Services Inc. experienced a problem with one of the data processing services in its public cloud. The flaw caused disruptions to various AWS-hosted platforms, including Roku and Twilio, as well as some of the cloud giant’s own products.

Some Microsoft Corp. Outlook users, in turn, this morning reportedly had difficulty accessing the email service.
